Radiologist
General information
Dr. Danae Hourmouzi studied and obtained her specialty as a radiologist at the AUT. Since 2003 she is in charge of the MRI department at the Interbalkan Medical Centre and she is an associate of the U4U urological team especially for non-routine oncological cases of prostate cancer.
Academic studies and training
Dr Danae Hourmouzi graduated from the 1st High School of Drama with a mark of 19.9/20.
She studied at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She received the title of Specialisation in Radiology from the Radiology Department of the UGHT ‘G. Papanikolaou’ in Thessaloniki.
In 2003 she took further training on MRI at the Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance unit Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Trust London.
She completed a dissertation on ‘Latest Techniques of Magnetic Resonance for the Diagnosis of Malignant Brain Tumours and the Grading of Their Malignancy’.
She has a rich teaching and writing history with a plethora of proposals and articles in Greek and foreign scientific journals.
Professional experience
Dr. Danae Hourmouzi has many years of experience and a rich clinical background as Head of CAT scan and MRI departments in radiodiagnostic centres (1997-2003). From 2003 to today she is a paid Medical Practitioner of the Radiology Department of the Interbalkan Medical Centre of Thessaloniki and Head of the MRI section. Besides her other interests, she has specialised on the MRI of the prostate and offers her services through her association with U4U urological team.
