Urologist surgeon
General information
Urologist Dr Dimitrios Takos finished his studies in Alexandroupoli before receiving the specialty title from the University Urological Clinic of Heraklion, Crete. He has a Ph.D on the topic of prostate cancer, 2 Master’s degrees, in Endourology and in the Clinical and Surgical Anatomy. He is a certified urologist in Sexual Medicine.
Academic studies and training
Dr Dimitrios Takos was born in Komotini in 1973 and he is married and a father of two children.
In 1993 he excelled in the university entrance examinations and entered the Medical School of the Democritus University of Thrace.
He obtained his specialty from the University Urological Clinic of Heraklion, Crete (an EBU certified centre) under Professor Sofra and during the same year and following oral and written examinations he obtained the FEBU title from the European Association of Urology (EAU). The subject of his dissertation was prostate cancer.
With a scholarship by the Institute for the Study of Urologic Diseases (ISUD) in 2011 Dr. Dimitrios Takos went to the UZA neurourology centre in Anvers (Belgium) under the pioneer neurourologist Professor J J Wyndaele. Dr Talps is certified by the Bristol Urology Institute in England to carry out urodynamic check-ups.
After the MJCSM – UEMS examinations in 2016, he was certified in the sub-specialty of Sexual Medicine – Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine (FECSM).
Dr. Dimitrios Takos has a Master’s degree in endourology from the Democritus University of Thrace on the subject of ‘The Application of LASERS in Urology’ as well as a second postgraduate title on the ‘Clinical – Surgical Anatomy’ from the Democritus University of Thrace.
The doctor is certified to perform ultrasounds of the urogenital system.
He has participated in scientific essays, lectures and laboratories in Greek and international conferences and he has authored scientific articles in scientific journals.
Professional experience
Since 2010 Mr. Takos has a private practice in Komotini in modern consulting rooms created to provide a high standard of services with cutting-edge technology in equipment and software.
He is an associate and surgeon of the Interbalkan Medical Centre in Thessaloniki.
